Subject

Star Trek Fanfiction

Description

Star Drek and The Free Enterprise are both fictional fan writings featured within Spockanalia #1 and Spockanalia #2. Rather than write case studies on Star Trek characters, these authors chose to write more fictional works, both with humorous intent. Star Drek is an extended fanfiction about the Enterprise crew traveling to a fantasy environment. The Free Enterprise is a humorous newsrag published on the Enterprise. It bills itself as rag that will publish anything so long as it isn't serious, and all contributors are anonymous.

Both stories highlight the growing trend of creating fictional scenarios and events in which to place the characters of Star Trek. Eventually, fanfiction would become the most popular form of fan creation within early Star Trek fandom.
